National Camps for Blind Children (NCBC)

Camps

PLAN NOW TO ATTEND CAMP
THIS SUMMER!

National Camps for Blind Children (NCBC), a CRS outreach program, is excited to announce its 2026 summer season! NCBC is a program for United States citizens, and partner camps welcome blind and low-vision applicants ages 9-65 (ages may vary by location).

To register, please click the camp name from the list below or contact the camp directly to receive the application form. Please confirm the camp status and dates before scheduling travel. CRS will sponsor one camp per camper per summer camp season, and sponsored funds are paid directly to the partner camp. If a camper wishes to attend additional camps, it will be at the camper's expense and pending space availability at the other camps (Example: An individual registers for two camps in a single season. The first camp held during the camp season is sponsored; the second camp is at the member's or member family's expense). When applying for camp, ask the camp coordinator for suggestions about the best ways to travel to and from camp. Transportation is the responsibility of the camper or the camper's family. CRS recommends that campers who choose to travel by air purchase refundable tickets.

All partner camp locations are state-accredited. Some partner locations also hold ACA (American Camp Association) accreditation.

Youth Camp Integrated Model (YCIM)

What is YCIM?

NCBC launched the YCIM Pilot Program in 2021 to allow younger campers (typically ages 7–18 but may vary by location) to experience an integrated camp program with sighted peers.

How does YCIM work?

Following parent/guardian and camp director consultation and approval, YCIM campers may attend independently or with similar age/same-gender sighted guide assistance on scholarship through NCBC. The parents or guardians of children or youth who are legally blind are invited to contact participating camps to receive more information, as space is limited. The "one NCBC scholarship per camper per year" rule applies to YCIM program locations.
