YOUR ONLINE PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT TO US

Christian Record Services, Inc. (dba Christian Record Services for the Blind) recognizes the importance of protecting information collected from users of its website. It is the organization's policy to use the information for internal purposes only. Security measures are maintained to keep this information private. The only exception is "Postings" which is discussed near the end of this document. It should be noted that the user's browser does automatically inform Christian Record about the type of computer and operating system being used.

Users can visit this website without revealing information about themselves. Christian Record's registration forms require users to supply contact information that may include name, email address, format preference (HTML vs. plain text), physical address, and interests. The organization does not request or store sensitive information, such as social security numbers, from users.

If users indicate that they do not wish to have their information used as a basis for further contact, Christian Record will respect those wishes. The organization does keep track of the domains from which people visit. This data is analyzed for trends and statistics in aggregate and then discarded.

Christian Record Services, Inc. cares about the safety and security of credit card transactions. Any sensitive information provided to the organization, such as credit card information, is transmitted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. (Look for the "s" following HTTP. It indicates a secure site.) Christian Record extends that protection by maintaining the information in encrypted form and restricting access to a limited number of qualified employees.

Christian Record does not rent, sell, or give personally-identifiable information regarding its clients (such as names and addresses) to third parties unless notification is provided at the point of resource selection by a client or his or her designee. Individuals who provide personally-identifiable information and do not wish it to be shared in any way may opt out by contacting info@christianrecord.org. To prevent unauthorized access, to maintain data accuracy, and to ensure the appropriate use of information, Christian Record has put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information collected.

Use of Cookies

Certain sections of the Christian Record website may use "cookies" to store user information. A cookie is a small string of text that a website can send to your browser. A cookie cannot retrieve data from a user's hard drive, pass on computer viruses, or capture an e-mail address. Currently, websites use cookies to enhance the user's visit. Cookies can securely store a user's ID and password, personalize home pages, identify which parts of a site have been visited, or keep track of selections in a "shopping cart." Cookies can help Christian Record understand which parts of its website are the most popular, where users are going, and how long they spend there. Christian Record may use cookies to study traffic patterns on this website so that it can be improved. Cookies may also be used for site administration and security.

Children's Guidelines

Christian Record Services, Inc. encourages children to learn more about the organization. However, Christian Record urges that this is done only with their parents' knowledge and supervision. Christian Record Services, Inc. complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA http://www.ftc.gov/ogc/coppa1.htm).

None of the organization's websites covered by this policy knowingly collect identifiable personal information from children under age 13. If Christian Record discovers that a person under age 13 has provided personally-identifiable information, the organization will delete that information from its systems. Christian Record is unable to reply to information requests from children under the age of 13 if so identified. A parent or guardian must initiate requests for information from children under the age of 13 on their behalf.

Privacy Policy Updates

Christian Record Services, Inc. may occasionally update this policy so that it evolves with the rapidly changing technologies employed on the Internet. Revisions will be posted to this webpage. A revised privacy policy will apply only to data collected subsequent to its effective date.

Donation Refund Policy

Your gifts bring joy! The clients and staff of Christian Record Services, Inc. are grateful for your donation and support. If you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to our organization, please contact us. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.

Automated Recurring Donation Cancellation

Ongoing support is important to enabling projects to continue their work, so Christian Record encourages donors to continue to contribute to projects over time. However, if you must cancel your recurring donation, please notify us.
